The Sun is an Enormous Source of Energy

The Sun is an Enormous Source of Energy

The sunlight that hits the earth in a square meter in just one day contains roughly 1000 watts of energy. That's enough to power your washing machine, dryer, fridge, computer, and TV simultaneously.

So how does solar power work?

When sunlight hits the solar PV modules (photovoltaic modules) it is converted into DC power
by the silicon cells creating an electrical current. An inverter then changes that current to AC power and it is ready to use in your home, office, or factory.

How Solar Power Works - Photovoltaic Power and how it works for you.

When you have a PV system (photovoltaic system) it creates energy during the day and feeds any electricity you don’t use right away into the grid. Many homeowners can actually watch their meters run backward! When the sun is set and you use more electricity than you produce the meter runs forward again. It is not uncommon to have a surplus at the end of the month which your utility will pay you for.
